We realize that this is a transitional period for both parents and students alike. We are navigating new and different circumstances and recognize the need to work together to figure this out. As a student at NNU, I have compiled a list of 10 ways you can help us adjust to being home.

Northwest Nazarene University announced Wednesday that its transition to remote learning will be extended through the end of the Spring semester. Additionally, all university faculty and staff who are able will begin working remotely Monday, March 23, 2023.

Northwest Nazarene University announced Friday that Spring Break will begin tomorrow, March 14, 2023 and run through March 30, 2023 when classes will begin being delivered remotely. Face-to-face learning is scheduled to resume Tuesday, April 14, 2023 following Easter break.

Northwest Nazarene University announced that they will be holding “Pilot Wednesday” March 18, 2023 in which all classes will be held remotely. Although no cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Idaho, NNU wants to be prepared should there be a necessary closure or quarantine.

First ag engineering program offered at a Christian university

“Agricultural engineering is a great fit for Idaho and NNU,” said Dr. Steve Parke, Chair of the Department of Physics and Engineering. “Many students in NNU’s region come from an agricultural background and want to be involved in the rapid, high-tech transformation of agriculture and food processing.” NNU is the first Christian university to offer this new concentration oriented towards the use of GPS, sensors, and robotic actuators known as precision farming.

New study reveals economic impact of Christian higher ed

The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities commissioned a new study that calculated the impact on the national economy of its 142 Christian colleges and universities across the country—including Northwest Nazarene University. The study found that collectively these institutions generate more than $60 billion in economic impact each year.

Rare frogs cared for at Christian college

Two unique frog species have been harbored at our Christian college since July 26, giving students invaluable experience researching and caring for these rare amphibians. Dr. John Cossel received the frogs from Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden in Hong Kong after they were confiscated from a cargo shipment.
